Built by Builders. A Welding Company That Understands What It's Welding Into

CanaWelding.ca is not a standalone welding shop. It is the dedicated welding division of Canadian Structures — CanaStruct Inc., a fully HCRA-licensed structural framing and building company operating across Ontario. Our welders came up through structural steel erection, residential framing, and commercial construction. When they pick up a torch, they understand the load the connection carries — not just how to deposit a bead.

  • CWB-certified welding company — Canadian Welding Bureau certification under CSA W47.1
  • Division of CanaStruct Inc. — Ontario’s HCRA-licensed structural framing contractor
  • Mobile welding across the full GTA — Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, and beyond
  • Residential, commercial, and industrial scope — from a single railing repair to full structural steel erection
  • Fully insured and WSIB compliant — documentation provided in advance for any site or project

Where CanaWelding Came From

CanaWelding was born from a question that came up repeatedly on CanaStruct’s structural framing sites. Engineers, builders, and clients kept asking the same thing: “Who guarantees the quality of the welding that supports this structure?” On a framing project, the structural steel connections are the most critical elements in the entire build — and on most sites, those connections were being handed off to third-party welders whose process discipline, certification status, and structural understanding varied widely.

CanaStruct made a deliberate decision to change that. Rather than continuing to subcontract the most structurally important work on every project, we built a dedicated welding division from within — staffed by welders trained on active steel erection sites, held to CWB certification standards, and operating with the same accountability that CanaStruct applies to every element of a structural build.

What began as an internal solution for CanaStruct’s own projects quickly expanded into a full-service mobile welding operation serving builders, contractors, engineers, property owners, fleet operators, and industrial facilities across the GTA. The structural background remained the foundation. The scope simply grew to match the demand.

What Sets CanaWelding Apart from a Welding Shop

A Structural Framing Background Not Just a Trade Background

Most mobile welders have a trade background — they completed an apprenticeship, passed their certification, and can execute clean welds on the materials they’re familiar with. That is the baseline. What CanaWelding brings beyond it is a structural framing background through CanaStruct Inc. Our welders have set columns, installed beams, and connected joists on active steel erection sites under an engineer’s supervision. They understand load paths, connection hierarchies, and why a specific weld must be executed a specific way — not just how to run it. That knowledge changes how we assess, quote, and complete every welding job we take.

CWB Certification — The Credential That Counts on Structural Work

The Canadian Welding Bureau certifies companies and welders against CSA W47.1 — the national standard for structural welding quality in Canada. CWB certification is legally required for structural welding on engineered projects in Ontario. It requires documented weld procedures, welders tested to specific joint and position requirements, a quality control system, and periodic third-party audits. It is not a trade licence. It is the credential that engineers specify on structural drawings and that inspectors verify on site. CanaWelding holds this certification. We provide full documentation — weld procedure specifications, inspection records, insurance certificates, and WSIB clearance — in advance of any project star

HCRA-Licensed Parent Company — Regulated Accountability

CanaWelding.ca is a division of Canadian Structures — CanaStruct Inc., which holds a full HCRA (Home Construction Regulatory Authority) licence under Ontario’s New Home Construction Licensing Act. The HCRA licence is a government-regulated credential that requires holders to meet enforced standards of competency, carry mandatory insurance, and maintain financial accountability to the province. This is not a self-declared certification — it is a regulated standard. For clients engaging CanaWelding, the HCRA licence held by CanaStruct means you are working with a company that carries regulated accountability at the parent level, not just a trade certification.

What CanaWelding Does — Our Service Scope Mobile Welding Services Across Every Sector

Mobile Welding Services Across Every Sector

CanaWelding provides CWB-certified mobile welding services across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in the GTA. Our core services include on-site field welding for construction sites and facilities, structural steel welding for engineered connections and steel frame installations, welding repair services for gates, railings, fences, and equipment, and trailer welding repair for hitches, frames, and all trailer types across the GTA.

We also provide aluminum welding (MIG spool gun and TIG), stainless steel welding, TIG welding services, heavy equipment welding for construction machinery and industrial equipment, emergency welding with rapid GTA dispatch, and shipping container welding and modification with Corten-compatible processes.

One Standard Across Every Job

The scope of jobs we handle ranges from a single residential gate repair in Etobicoke to a complete structural steel frame installation through CanaStruct Inc. on a commercial mid-rise in Mississauga. The scale changes — the quality standard does not. CWB certification, correct process selection, proper joint preparation, and honest assessment before every quote are applied consistently regardless of job size or sector.

For clients who need structural steel fabrication, erection, and welding managed under one contract, CanaWelding and CanaStruct together provide that capability — the only mobile welding company in the GTA that can offer full structural steel scope from fabrication through field welding through complete frame erection under a single agreement.

Frequently Asked
Questions About CanaWelding Who owns CanaWelding.ca?

CanaWelding.ca is owned and operated by Canadian Structures — CanaStruct Inc., a fully HCRA-licensed home building and structural framing company in Ontario. CanaStruct operates across the Greater Toronto Area and performs structural steel erection and installation on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. CanaWelding is the dedicated welding division of that operation — not a separate standalone company, but a specialized service arm with its own branding, certification, and operational scope built on CanaStruct’s structural foundation.

Is CanaWelding CWB certified?

Yes. CanaWelding holds Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification under CSA W47.1 — the national standard for certification of companies for fusion welding of steel in Canada. CWB certification is required by the Ontario Building Code for structural welding on engineered projects. It is not a trade licence — it requires documented weld procedures, welder qualification testing to specific joint and position requirements, a quality control system, and periodic third-party audits. We provide full CWB documentation in advance of any project start.

What is the HCRA licence and why does it matter?

The HCRA (Home Construction Regulatory Authority) licence is a government-regulated credential issued under the Ontario New Home Construction Licensing Act. It requires holders to meet enforced standards of competency, carry mandatory insurance, and maintain financial accountability to the province. CanaStruct Inc. — the parent company of CanaWelding — holds this licence. For welding clients, it means you are engaging a company with regulated, government-enforced accountability at the parent level — not just a trade certification that is self-administered.

How is CanaWelding different from other mobile welding companies in Toronto?

The primary difference is structural background. Most mobile welding companies operate from a trade background — solid welding skills, but limited understanding of how the structure they are welding into actually carries load. CanaWelding’s welders came through CanaStruct’s structural framing operations — they have erected steel frames, set columns to tolerance, and connected beams under engineer supervision. They assess welding jobs with structural knowledge, not just process knowledge. For residential repairs, this means catching issues other welders miss. For commercial and structural work, it means the connection is assessed correctly before the first arc is struck.

What types of welding projects does CanaWelding take on?

CanaWelding handles the full range of mobile welding across the GTA: on-site field welding for construction and renovation projects, structural steel welding for engineered connections and I-beam installations, welding repair for gates, railings, fences, and equipment, trailer welding repair for hitches and frames, aluminum and stainless steel welding, TIG welding services, heavy equipment welding for construction machinery, emergency welding with rapid dispatch, and shipping container welding and modification. See our services page for the full scope.

Does CanaWelding provide documentation for permitted or inspected projects?

Yes. For structural welding projects requiring engineer review, permit submission, or building inspection, we provide weld procedure specifications, welder qualification records, CWB certification documentation, liability insurance certificates, and WSIB clearance. For commercial and industrial sites with HSE requirements or third-party contractor management platforms, we provide all required documentation in advance — before the crew arrives on site.

How do I get a quote from CanaWelding?

Call us at (647) 641-0550 or email build@canawelding.ca. Describe the job — the material, what needs to be welded or repaired, and your location in the GTA. For most calls, we can give you a price range on the phone and confirm same-day or next-day availability. For structural, commercial, or industrial projects, we conduct an on-site assessment and provide a written, itemized quote before any work begins. What we quote is what you pay — no additions after the fact.

Is CanaWelding available for emergency welding calls?

Yes. We provide emergency welding dispatch across the GTA for situations that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment — failed structural connections, broken equipment at a facility, trailer hitch failure before a job, or any safety-critical weld that needs to be fixed today. For emergency calls, contact us by phone at (647) 641-0550 rather than the quote form. See our dedicated emergency welding page for more information on response times and scope.
